Dagestan (Eastern) Tur Hunting Near Dallas, TX

The East Caucasian tur, or the Dagestan tur, is a member of the caprine family. The family’s unscientific name is “goat-antelope” due to its inclusion of some sheep and goat breeds that boast antelope-like characteristics.

Despite the Dagestan turs’ short legs and narrow body, these animals can weigh in at up to 310 lbs. Males can stand approximately 40 inches tall at the shoulder and have a head-body length of about 75 inches. The male’s horns are generally between 28 and 30 inches in length, while female horns are usually only about 8 to 9 inches long.
