Zebra, a majestic member of the Equus genus, are native to Southern and Eastern Africa. They, along with horses and asses, are the only three members of the Equidae family. Zebras have the distinction of being one of the most easily recognizable animals thanks to their unique and striking stripes, making them a must for many hunters.
Zebras are the only Equidae species to have resisted every effort at domestication. They are generally three and a half to nearly five feet tall at the shoulder and can weigh more than 750 pounds. Although their striping sometimes makes zebras appear to be white with black stripes, their skin is actually black, making them black with heavy white and sometimes brown striping.
