The addax, or the white antelope, is a Sahara Desert native. Both males and females have their signature twisted horns, with female horns being about 22 to 30 inches and male horns being roughly 28 to 33 inches. Males and females are close in size, with shoulder heights being between 37 and 45 inches.
Their white coat helps them efficiently radiate the desert heat, and it’s believed the unique lining in their stomachs helps store and conserve water. Some of the largest populations of addax are found in North American ranches, where they thrive under the protection of nature enthusiasts.
